How to Make DIY Bath Oils
The complete guide: from carrier oils to essential oils and ready-to-use recipes. Create your own personalised bath oil – natural, simple and in just a few minutes.
What you need
A homemade bath oil only requires a few ingredients. You may already have most of them at home.
1. Carrier oil (base)
The base oil makes up about 95 % of your bath oil. Great options: sweet almond oil, jojoba oil or coconut oil.
2. Essential oils
Just a few drops give your bath oil its scent and effect. The choice depends on the result you're after.
3. Optional: emulsifier
Milk or honey help distribute the oil better in bath water. Not essential, but recommended.
Everything you need for your own personalised bath oil.
Instructions in 4 steps
Pour 100 ml of carrier oil into a measuring cup or small bowl.
Add 20–30 drops of essential oil per 100 ml of base oil. Adjust according to preferred intensity.
Stir well and pour the blend into a dark glass bottle using a funnel.
Keep in a cool, dark place. Your bath oil will stay fresh for several weeks.
