    • Description

Organic Aloe Vera Gel – 98 % leaf gel, five ingredients

Most aloe gels on the shelf are mainly water. This one is not: aloe comes first in the ingredient list, and only four more follow. No fragrance, no colourants, no alcohol.

Viworo organic aloe vera gel, 200 ml tube

      Your benefits at a glance

      • 98 % aloe leaf gel: Aloe sits at the very top of the ingredient list – not water. INCI is ordered by weight, so that first line tells you more than any claim on the front of the tube.
      • Five ingredients, no more: Aloe, a plant-based thickener and three substances that keep the gel stable. No fragrance, no colourants, no alcohol.
      • Absorbs without stickiness: A thin film you stop noticing after a minute. No greasy shine, no tightness – it also works under a cream or make-up.
      • Organic and vegan, from Italy: Aloe barbadensis from organic farming, processed in Italy. A 200 ml tube you can open and dose one-handed.

      How to use it

      Where:
Face and body, after sun, after shaving, in your hair.

      How much:
For your face a pea-sized amount on slightly damp skin is enough – it spreads better and holds more water that way. For legs and arms after a day outdoors use a generous layer and don’t rub it in for long – the cooling is immediate. After shaving a thin film instead of aftershave: no alcohol, so nothing stings. In your hair, a hazelnut-sized amount through damp lengths as a leave-in. Tip: keep the tube in the fridge from June to September – on sun-warm skin you feel the difference straight away.

      The right partners

The gel is a neutral base: it smells of nothing, so it gets along with everything.

      • To seal it in: Sweet almond oil – gel first, then two drops of oil – the moisture stays where you put it.
      • For the face at night: Jojoba oil – very light and non-clogging – the best match on top of the gel.
      • For your own blend: True lavender – two drops in a hazelnut-sized amount of gel, on your shoulders in the evening.

How to spot an honest aloe gel

Three small details say more than the percentage printed on the front:

      1. What comes first in the ingredient list. If it reads Aqua, water is the main ingredient – whatever the front says. Here the first entry is Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice.
      2. How long the list is. Every extra line is something that is not aloe. Five ingredients is short.
      3. Whether there is fragrance in it. Fragrance covers things up. Real aloe gel smells of almost nothing, faintly green and herbal. This one is unscented – you smell the plant, not the perfume.

      Your routine

      Morning

After cleansing, a thin film on still-damp skin. Let it sink in for a minute, then cream or make-up as usual. The gel is the hydrating base underneath – and make-up sits better on it.

      Evening

A more generous layer on face, hands or feet as an overnight mask. For dry heels and elbows: apply the gel, then pull on cotton socks or gloves.

      Hair

A hazelnut-sized amount through damp lengths as a leave-in – soft ends without frizz, and on curls it defines without going crunchy. Or before washing: massage into the scalp, leave for 20 minutes, then shampoo as usual.

      What 200 ml gets you

A pea-sized amount covers your face: used daily, a 200 ml tube lasts two to three months – a little over 20 cents a day. If you also use it on body, legs and hair, expect four to six weeks – less at the height of summer.

      Frequently asked questions

Can I use the gel as a moisturiser?

Yes, that is the most common use. On normal and combination skin it works on its own. On dry skin the gel alone won’t last all day: apply it first and seal it with two drops of sweet almond oil or jojoba oil. Water first, then oil – never the other way round.

      Why 98 % and not 100 %?

Because those two per cent are what turns the juice into a gel and keeps it stable. Xanthan gum (from sugar fermentation) gives the texture, citric acid brings the pH close to that of skin, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate keep yeasts and moulds out. A 100 % aloe product would be as runny as water and would spoil within days in a bathroom. Where you read “100 % aloe vera”, it usually means juice, not gel.

Is it suitable after sun exposure?

Yes, and that is why most people buy it. Apply a generous layer to sun-reddened skin: it cools immediately and leaves the skin soft rather than rough. If the tube has been in the fridge, it is twice as pleasant.

How do I use it on hair?

Two ways. As a leave-in: a hazelnut-sized amount through damp lengths for soft, frizz-free ends. Or as a pre-shampoo treatment: massage into the scalp, leave for 20 minutes, then wash as usual.

Can I mix it with essential oils?

Yes – precisely because it has no scent of its own, it is one of the best bases. Two drops of true lavender in a hazelnut-sized amount for the evening, or one drop of tea tree for a clearer note on combination skin. Only mix what you use straight away – in your palm, not in the tube.

Does it feel sticky or tight?

No. With no alcohol and no oils it leaves a film you stop noticing after a minute. If it feels sticky, you used too much – it takes far less than people expect.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

The short list helps: five ingredients and no fragrance, which removes the two most common triggers. As with any cosmetic, still test it on a small patch on the inside of your elbow and wait 24 hours – here is how: the patch test.

      How should I store it?

Away from direct light and heat, with the cap closed. The fridge isn’t necessary, but it is pleasant in summer. Close it right after use: a tube protects the contents far better than a jar, because neither air nor fingers get in.
