Plant extracts

This page is the starting point. It says briefly what hydroalcoholic extracts are, where ours come from and where to read on if a question stays open.

In shortA hydroalcoholic fluid extract is a liquid plant concentrate: plant material steeps in a mixture of water and alcohol. At Viworo that means over 50 extracts, most of them 1:1 fluid extracts with 30 % vol. alcohol, in amber glass with a dropper, prepared in a specialised laboratory in Italy.

Where they come from

We do not make them ourselves

Viworo is a family business and a retailer, not a manufacturer. Our extracts come from a specialised laboratory in Italy. We select — we do not prepare.

Mostly 1:1

Most of our extracts are 1:1 fluid extracts with 30 % vol. alcohol. A few plants — ginseng, St John's wort, chaste tree, damiana, rosehip — are prepared by the T.M. method and sit between 55 and 65 %, propolis at 70 %. Ratio and alcohol content are stated on each product.

Amber glass with a dropper

Light is the biggest enemy of a plant extract. Hence the brown glass and the dropper that sits firmly in the cap.
